Armstrong Taimen (ST293) and Caribou share the lowest light reflectance in the Earthen design, at 20-24%. In Armstrong's swatch, Taimen looks like a deeper gray with a subtle brown cast, and the arched Earthen grain still shows through.

A darker floor changes how a room uses light. Floors with higher reflectance help carry daylight deeper into a space and can reduce how much artificial lighting you need, and Taimen reflects less than half as much light as Amur. Glare is a separate issue: it comes from glossy finishes, not from reflectance. Look at a sample under the room's actual lighting before you order.

Finish: Diamond 10 Technology

Installation and warranty: Full-spread glue-down. The 30-year commercial limited warranty requires a recommended Armstrong adhesive, such as S-995 or S-1000, installed according to Armstrong's instructions.
