Overlap Reducer

Flooring transition

Definition of Overlap Reducer

An overlap reducer is an edge flooring material that helps make a smooth transition between floors of different heights.

It covers up uneven edges and allows for expansion gaps when a floating floor material connects to a higher level floor or meets a wall. This allows the floating floor to move without being restricted.

The video below demonstrates how overlap reducers are installed:

Example of Overlap Reducer in a Sentence

“An overlap reducer creates a smooth transition from a higher profile floor to a lower profile floor.”
