Low-VOC Laminate Flooring

Flooring type

Definition of Low-VOC Laminate Flooring

Low-VOC laminate flooring is an environmentally friendly and safe flooring material that emits reduced levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Low-VOC laminate flooring is made from composite wood and printed using water-based inks. The top layer is coated with aluminum oxide, which has a low VOC content and makes this flooring option resistant to water, wear, and tear.

VOCs are chemicals released from many industrial products, including flooring, paints, and cleaning products. Prolonged exposure to VOCs may cause ear, nose and throat (ENT) irritation, headaches, and nausea.

Low-VOC adhesives are also used in this flooring, which makes it even more suitable for indoor use in either commercial or residential settings.

The benefits of LOW-VOC flooring include:

  • It's versatile, durable, and has high resistance to staining, scratching, and fading.
  • It’s safe for your health and environmentally friendly.
  • It’s hypoallergenic, meaning it keeps mold, mildew, pests, and other allergens at bay.
  • It’s an affordable flooring option.

Example of Low-VOC Laminate Flooring in a Sentence
