Sheet vinyl or vinyl plank flooring should be kept indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Excess heat or cold can damage the material and the adhesive. This can cause them to be uneven upon installation.

Flat Surface

Vinyl plank and sheet vinyl flooring must be stored on flat ground. If they are left uneven for an extended period, they will become warped, bent, or damaged. This will make proper installation difficult or impossible.

How to Install Vinyl Flooring

Installing vinyl flooring is fairly simple, especially on concrete floors, but it does require some prepping and care.

Lay the vinyl tile flooring in position.
Pull back half of the flooring to reveal subfloor.
Using a notched steel trowel, apply recommended adhesive to the subfloor.
Allow the adhesive to sit according to open-time instructions.
Carefully lay vinyl tiles back in place and press firmly.
Clean up any residual adhesive left behind and keep foot traffic to a minimum for 24 hours so the adhesive has time to dry and bond.
