Variation here runs higher than almost anywhere else in Shaw's line. Extremely High is the character rating on this Regatta Teak engineered hardwood, a step above the High rating used on most of the collection, so true knots, heavy sapwood streaking, and mineral marks show up with real frequency across Mainsail's warm, mid-to-dark tone, and plantation teak itself brings a distinct look to the mix, an imported species with its own grain character rather than the tight lines of a domestic oak or the wild swings of hickory. A smooth surface and 15% gloss let all of that variation show clearly, without a heavy texture competing for attention.
A cabin great room finished with clay-painted cabinetry, a pistachio wall, and stainless hardware suits Mainsail's dramatic range well, with an onyx counter grounding the room in something darker and calmer. This floor carries approval for nailing, stapling, gluing, or floating, covering a cabin's typical mix of subfloor conditions, whether that means original plank subflooring that takes a nail well or a newer concrete pad better suited to a floating installation. Few floors offer that much flexibility for a remote cabin build with an unpredictable subfloor history and no easy way to bring in a different product later.
