6-Inch Wall Base Molding
Most 6-inch wall base (cove base) molding is often made of rubber and vinyl or rubber-vinyl blends. Vinyl baseboards and rubber/vinyl mixed wall base strike a perfect balance between cost and durability. These baseboards are an affordable addition that protects any space. Roppe cove base is a great option for apartments, condos, and other residential living spaces.
Flexibile & Resilient
Whether it's a cove base with toe or a straight toeless 6-inch baseboard, our products are designed to provide flexibility and resilience. The 6-inch rubber cove base features a more matte finish, while the vinyl presents a shinier surface, ready to take on paint. Most wall base sold in the US is vinyl or vinyl-rubber blends for design and sanitary purposes.
How to Buy Wall Base
When you purchase 6-inch wall base, your order must be in full box quantities, as we do not cut or mold our stock baseboards to fit custom spaces. This product is sold in 120-foot rolls / coils and 4-foot pieces. To ensure you get the correct color, include a sample of rubber or vinyl baseboard in your checkout cart. All shipments are special orders and are not returnable unless material is deemed damaged or defective by the manufacturer.
Cove Base Molding
Straight or base with no toe is often used for carpet installation. Cove base molding is best applied on vinyl, laminate, and tiled floors. The wall molding protects the lower portion of the wall and offers an accent to any room that separates the floor from the wall. Rubber wall molding is popular for having the ability to be molded and shaped in and out of corners.
Adhesive/Glue Required
Glue is required and can be applied with a caulking gun or putty knife. Use a 30-oz. cartridge and an oversized caulking gun to apply adhesive to the base and wall. A 3- or 5-hole nozzle will also help you spread the adhesive onto the backing of the base before pressing the baseboard firmly on the wall. If you’re going around corners, try scoring the back of the floor molding material on corners to make the base fit firmly against the wall.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Each plank has a real hardwood surface bonded to a layered core, so the visible floor is genuine wood. The engineered build helps reduce some natural expansion and contraction.
Remove grit first with a soft broom, microfiber dust mop, or hardwood-safe vacuum. Then use the Shaw-recommended cleaner for that product. Avoid steam mops, standing water, abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, and oil-based cleaners unless Shaw approves them.
Installation varies by product. Confirm whether the floor is approved for clic-lock/floating, glue-down, nail-down, or staple-down installation, then follow Shaw’s requirements for subfloor prep, moisture testing, acclimation, and warranty compliance.
Engineered hardwood refinishingtdepends on the hardwood veneer thickness and the product’s finish system. Thicker wear layers may allow light sanding or screening, while thinner veneers may only support recoating. Check Shaw’s installation guide or product specs before sanding, and have a flooring professional confirm the remaining wear layer.
Installation Methods
Click-lock, also called floating installation, means the engineered hardwood planks connect together at the edges and float over the approved subfloor instead of being glued or nailed down. This method is often preferred for faster installation because the planks lock into place as a connected floor system, making it a practical option when the Shaw hardwood product is approved for floating installation.
This method attaches the flooring directly to the subfloor with adhesive. This method can create a solid feel underfoot and is often used over concrete, slab foundations, or areas where the product requires full adhesion.
Nail-down installation fastens the flooring to a wood subfloor using flooring nails or cleats. It is commonly used for hardwood installations over plywood or approved wood subfloors and usually requires professional tools.
