Tarkett / Johnsonite 946 Premium Contact Adhesive 1 Quart (24-36 SF)

Tarkett 946 Premium Contact Adhesive is a nonflammable, water-based contact bond formulated for trim and accessory installation on porous and non-porous surfaces, ideal for:

• Rubber/Vinyl/Cove wall base & wall base sticks
• Stair treads, stair nosings, and riser components
• Transitions, reducers, corner guards, and chair rails
• Metal, sealed/painted surfaces, wood, and concrete substrates

Open / Working Time

• Allow adhesive on both surfaces to dry to the touch (no transfer): approx. 20–40 minutes, depending on site conditions
• Working time (after drying): up to ~2 hours
• Limited repositioning—press once for final bond

Approximate coverage (varies by substrate & application):
• 1 Quart: ~24–36 sq ft
• 1 Gallon: ~144–215 sq ft

Application

• Apply an even coat to both surfaces using a basting brush or coarse foam roller
• Allow to dry to “touch-dry” on each surface, then align and press firmly together
• Maintain room conditions of ~65–85°F (18–29°C) and 40–60% RH during install

Substrate Conditions

• Clean, flat, sound, and dry; free of dust, oils, sealers, and old adhesive
• For concrete: meet manufacturer moisture/pH limits prior to install
